Graham Middle School

Graham Middle School, a California Distinguished School located four blocks from downtown Mountain View, is part of the Mountain View School District which had an enrollment of 3,030 students in 1993-1994. Graham had an enrollment of 875 students in grades six, seven, and eight. The community and our students represent a rich and culturally diverse population. Four elementary schools in the district send graduates to Graham. Graduates of Graham Middle School attend Mountain View or Los Altos High School.x

Curriculum

All Graham students pursue a common, comprehensive, academically-oriented core curriculum. All students study literature, writing, history, geography, mathematics, science, and physical education. Exploratory classes are offered in 6th and 7th grade and electives in 8th grade. Over 60% of the students participate in instrumental or vocal music. Over 169 English Language Development students were enrolled in special classes to develop English skills.

Attendance

Actual student attendance at Graham Middle School was 94.68% for the 1993-94 school year. The district average was 95.35%.

Goal

The goal of the district is to develop individuals who are responsible, self-motivated and effective members of our democratic society, capable of meeting the changing needs of that society.
